Om prakesh Sahu took birth at PARSADA village of s Abhanpur block on dated 30th June 1981. He is orthopedically handicapped by birth. But disability identity or certificate was not issued to him. He completed his primary education and high school from parsada his native village. After that he went to Durg for higher education and failed in the first year exam and decided to discontinue his study.

Ompraksah’s family is a joint family consisting of 12 members. He started his work as a LIC agent and carried out RCM business for his livelihood. Gradually he joined in DPOs and worked as a leader of Disable people organization of Abhanpur block. He married before 5 years when he was of 25 years old. He is good enough in social activities at village level.

Omparakash Sahu for the first time participated in block level DPOs meeting and was encouraged and inspired from the training program conducted on dated 2nd September 2011 organised by PRERAK at Abhanpur block.. In this training programme he gathered lots of knowledge and information about the PWD rights and need. He easily realized all the basic need for the PWD as because he himself is a person with disability.

Om prakash Sahu never fails to attain the block level DPOs meeting conducted in every month with support of PRERAK to share certain relevant information regarding new acts or facilities provided under certain acts and laws for disabled. All the discussed information and reports are shared in village level or cluster level Self Advocacy group meeting.

With the leadership and supervision of Om prakash Sahu the village level SAGs meeting is organized in which Mr. Sahu shared different information and solution towards the problem being faced by the disabled person. In every meeting he tries his level best to generate the awareness and encouraged for active participation of disabled to carryout advocacy for their own benefit.
Omprakesh sahu is a capable and strong leader for the disabled people.
