SRI Technology

The project ‘Sustainable Community Development with focus on food security’ is being run by organization in 30 villages of Mainpur Block of Raipur District, Chhttisgarh. Under agriculture development program various trainings and exposures are being organized for farmers to improve their agricultural practices.

Emphasis is given on SRI Technology (Madagascar) of paddy cultivation. Being influenced by the program two farmers namely Mr. Manbodh and Mr. Khelan have adopted this technology. According to their testimony both of them says, “Being motivated by PRERAK organization we adopted SRI Technology and first time cultivated paddy in 0.40 acres of land with technical support and guidance from the organization.

Our previous production was 3 quintals and this time the production has increased to 3.90 quintals. This improved technology is very simple, low cost investment, use of less man power and at the end increase in production as compared to our traditional methods.
